Take part in an event
Whether it’s setting yourself a challenge or taking part in an event with family and friends, why not raise money for Toucan at the same time.
Here are just a few ways people have raised money through challenges…
The big climb – Two can Climb a Mountain for Toucan!
One of our trustees alongside one of our vital volunteers and supporters took on the challenge to climb Mt Kenya in January 2019, raising nearly £2500. Mt Kenya is the highest mountain in Kenya and the second largest in Africa and lies 16.5km south of the equator. The pair will be trekked to the highest climbing point, Point Lenana that stands at 4,985 metres. The climb took 5 days with a predawn attempt to the summit starting on Day 4 at 0300hrs and they made it!
Running the Forest of Dean half marathon
Lewis of Phoenix accountancy completed the Autumn half marathon, well done Lewis and he raised over £300 for Toucan.
Offa's Dyke Walk
177 miles in 11 days. Fran one of our therapists and her partner Ben completed this walk in April 2018 and so far they have raised over £1200! Amazing achievement.
Welsh 3 Peaks Challenge
Gavin and Jake vs 3 Welsh Mountains! Gavin and Jake walked the Welsh 3 peaks on 13th July 2019 to raise money for Toucan For Children. The walk included a total walking distance of 17 miles (27.4km) and an ascent of 2334 metres (7657ft) over Snowdon, Cadair Idris and Pen Y Fan. Covering 345 miles by car and all done in less than 24 hours!
This fantastic feat raised over £500 in sponsorship and gift aid contributions . Our thanks to Gavin and Jake.
The Cotswold Way
Adam and his dog Max originally planned to walk the Cotswold Way, 102 miles from Chipping Campden to Bath, between the 17th-20th October 2019. Torrential rain and local flooding during October meant Adam wasn't able to complete all 102 miles as planned. Not beaten, Adam returned to the sections of the walk he'd been unable to reach to complete his task. Adam, and of course Max, raised over £700 in sponsorship including the gift aid- How fantastic!

Annual Toucan Event
After the great success of our first charity dinner and auction in 2018, and due to the overwhelming support we received, we held a Peaky Blinders themed race night during October 2019. Once again, we received overwhelming support from local businesses and the community alike. We would like to say a great big thank to all our supporters.
